The good news is that yes, you can take a pumpkin pie, well actually any pie, through airport security.The bad news is that you can't take any of these items through according to the Transportation Security Administration:
* Creamy dips and spreads (cheeses, peanut butter, etc.)
* Gift baskets with food items (salsa, jams and salad dressings)
* Gravy
* Jams
* Jellies
* Maple syrup
* Oils and vinegars
* Salad dressing
* Salsa
* Sauces
* Soups
* Wine, liquor and beer

Thanks Amy, just the question I was wondering about this week!
A while ago, TSA took away my hummus while going through security! Thanks for the thumbs up.

And its good to hear that we can take any pie through the airport security.
Thanks to TSA and AMY also.

This is my first visit to your blog, but I had to comment on this post! Last summer I took a dozen cobs of corn as my 6-year old son's carry-on when we flew from Ontario to visit our good friends who are living in Calgary, Alberta. They were missing the sweet Ontario corn from home! I picked it up at the farmers' market that morning, rolled the cobs in tea towels and put them in a canvas bag. No one at security even batted an eye at the corn. They did, however, take away the 3-inch long toy wrench my son brought along "in case they need some help fixing the plane." Leslie in Ontario
Thanks Amy. I like your way of presenting your idea.
